Two years after making a splash on campus, exclusive designs from the student-athlete driven BEOREGON initiative are available for retail.
Born out of Nike’s BETRUE collection, which promotes diversity and inclusion in athletics, the University of Oregon’s BEOREGON campaign was the first school-specific branch. After seeing BETRUE, University of Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens had UO officials reach out to Nike to extend the initiative to Eugene.
In 2016, student-athletes were given the t-shirts to wear around campus to spark conversation about the athletic department’s related campaign. In addition to the tees, Oregon athletes took part in workshops about “LGBTQ inclusion and relationships between minorities and police.”
In working with the University of Oregon and Nike to release the BEOREGON collection, The Duck Store is excited to deliver on requests we have received from numerous students, alumni, fans and community members.
The message of equality and inclusion speaks to the principles on which the university is based — principles that we are proud to advance in our role as an independent, nonprofit campus retailer.
Beginning September 17, these shirts will be available at all Duck Store locations and UODuckStore.com.
