The University of Oregon is such a spacious campus with countless places to study that when you are walking to your classes, there is a good chance you’ll run across a space that makes you go “I should study there next time!” That certainly happened to me multiple times throughout my freshman year, and through my experience studying in various places, I have narrowed them down to my top 3 picks. Here are my top 3 study spots around campus.
Knight Library
The Knight Library is one of the most popular spots around campus to study in, and for a good reason. The library provides you with a quiet space to study, along with easy access to power outlets and USB outlets. Once you find your place in the library, you are good to go for a while.
The library also offers small and group study rooms you can book in advance if you either want to study in a room by yourself, or to study with a group. These study rooms are small individual rooms that are different from study spaces that are out in the open. In these rooms, you can afford to talk and discuss quietly with your group while you work, all while being mindful of other students that might be studying nearby.
With four floors full of spaces to study in, it’s guaranteed that you can find a place in the library to study, even on busy days.
EMU
Located in the heart of the campus, the EMU is one of the most convenient locations for students to go and study at. You can study on the ground floor of the EMU if you like to study in an open-concept area, or you can study in the nooks on the second floor for a more private study session; the EMU has spots for all types of students. The Taylor Lounge offers a space with couches, a piano and a fireplace where you can relax while studying. From time to time, you may even get to listen to someone playing the piano while studying, which can add to the experience.
Knight Campus
One of the newer buildings at the University of Oregon offers modern design and really nice study spaces throughout the building. This includes both outdoor and indoor spaces along with a bistro area for a quick coffee break.
There are so many spots to choose from to study in, and the more time you spend on campus, the more you discover how the campus is packed with amazing places to study.
These are just a few of the places that are worth checking out while studying for your midterms that came a little too early.
