In 2013, Devin Finley suffered a life-threatening health scare. It was during his recovery that he decided that it was time to do what he loved for a living and in 2014, Define Arts was born. His company creates indoor and outdoor artwork, murals, and even recreates logos.
Devin’s methods weren’t acquired through formal education. He is self-taught and has perfected his own techniques through the years. A self-proclaimed analytical creative he says, “if I can ‘see it’ I can do it.”
Because of his analytical approach to painting, it isn’t a stretch to assume that this self-taught artist credits Bob Ross as being a source of inspiration. He says, “he [Ross] broke down his process with simple technique really struck home with me.” However, other big influencers were his artist friends. He says seeing them being successful in their work gave him the confidence that he would be able to make it too.
Words of Wisdom from Devin:
Keep taking actions towards the goals they are looking to accomplish. The more actions you take the more results you get. They may not always look how you envision them but with time you can manipulate and change the path you take.
