Description

Andi (Berglund) ’64 and Jim Sandstrom ’64 returned to campus in the fall of 2014 to celebrate their 50th reunion, which sparked an idea for a commissioned work of art that could only be created by Eugene artist James Cloutier ’62, in his inimitable style. Over two years in the making, this piece now hangs in our new EMU, honoring the Class of 1964 and delighting visitors with its colorful and humorous depiction of campus life in the early 1960’s. This original watercolor graphic highlights administrative and faculty members, athletes and coaches, and students in caricature form.

In this original work, cartoonist James Cloutier puts his unique, whimsical spin on a historical depiction of UO campus life. His work captures the campus atmosphere of the time and will be meaningful to anyone who was on campus from the 1950’s – 1970’s.

Remember this special time and support future generations of Ducks with your very own 31” (w) x 23” (h) print of this unique work. $200.00 of the purchase price from each of the 300 limited-edition prints is a tax-deductible contribution to the Class of 1964 Scholarship at the University of Oregon. The remainder covers production & shipping costs and support for the artist, James Cloutier ’62.
